Professor Tim Boatswain brings extensive international experience in higher education leadership, university governance, executive development and transnational education. He has held senior academic and leadership positions at UK universities — including Pro Vice-Chancellor at the University of Huddersfield — and has since led international higher education institutions across Singapore, Myanmar and Uzbekistan. At ILEAD he leads the Executive Education & Senior Leadership Development practice, supporting university leaders and governing bodies through periods of complex institutional change.

A Professor of Anthropology and History, he holds a first-class degree in Ancient History and Archaeology, specialising in Byzantium, and pursued postgraduate studies in Social Anthropology at the London School of Economics. His academic and leadership career spans appointments at the University of Birmingham, the University of North London, the University of Bedfordshire and the University of Huddersfield, where he served as Pro Vice-Chancellor and contributed to senior institutional leadership, strategy and academic development. He has also held visiting lecturer and research fellow positions at Harvard University, the Ashmolean Museum, the Barber Institute of Fine Arts, the University of Southampton, Queen’s University Belfast and the Open University.

Following retirement from full-time UK academic posts, he has continued to contribute to international higher education as Chairman and Visiting Professor of TMC Academy in Singapore — an institution delivering UK university degrees across China, Singapore, Vietnam and Myanmar — and in Chairman roles at British University College, Myanmar, and TMCI, Tashkent, Uzbekistan.

This combination — UK academic and executive leadership alongside hands-on international institutional governance — gives ILEAD a distinctive, globally informed perspective on the challenges facing university leaders today.

Beyond higher education he maintains an active civic role in St Albans, including as President of the St Albans Civic Society and Chairman of Conservation 50, and serves as Chairman of Boatswain Lighting Ltd.

Dr Carlos Gomez is a leadership coach, organisational psychology practitioner and executive educator with international experience across Europe, Africa and Latin America. He holds a PhD in Conscious Leadership Development, an MBA, and is a Fellow of Advance HE. He is an international best-selling author of The Clear-Minded Leader and The Imposter Syndrome Remedy, Founder of NeuraLead Institute and Co-Founder & Director of Bmita Group.

At Knowledge Edge he leads leadership coaching and development for senior leaders, academic leaders, executives and high-performing professionals — building the judgement, emotional intelligence, resilience and self-awareness required to lead under pressure. Dr Aftab Dean brings 25 years of experience spanning corporate consultancy and higher education leadership. As Chief Analyst for Britain’s Most Admired Company annual audit, he reshaped how listed companies’ performance and reputation are assessed. As Director of Postgraduate Research he supervised more than 70 doctoral candidates to completion within three years.
