📄 Full Profile

At IHEART, Mr Mabika brings a genuinely rare vantage point: direct, first-hand experience sitting on the other side of the table as a QAA reviewer — the exact process IHEART now helps institutions prepare for.

Across more than two decades in higher education quality assurance, Mr Mabika has acted on behalf of the QAA as a Review Coordinator, managing review teams, liaising directly with college management, and ensuring assessments align with the UK Quality Code for Higher Education. His work has spanned institutional reviews, Educational Oversight inspections, and monitoring visits for alternative and private higher education providers, including Oxford Business College, Al-Maktoum College of Higher Education, Christ the Redeemer College, Thames College Berkshire, Oxford Centre for Mission Studies, and CECOS London College, among others. In this role, he led and facilitated inspections focused on the maintenance of academic standards and the quality of student learning opportunities — giving him detailed, practical insight into exactly what reviewers look for, how evidence is assessed, and where institutions most commonly fall short.

He currently serves as Director of Academics at Mortha Halls of Ivy UK, where he oversees curriculum standards, regulatory alignment, and academic delivery, ensuring programmes meet both internal benchmarks and external accreditation requirements. Alongside this, he has worked closely with a number of awarding and accrediting bodies, contributing to the development and review of qualifications and compliance frameworks.

Beyond his consultancy and academic leadership work, Mr Mabika holds a number of governance roles across UK higher education. He currently serves as Chair of the ASIC Accreditation Committee, Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee at Waltham International College, Founder and Chair of the College’s Board Operational Group, and Advisor to the Board of Governors at City of London College. He has played a leading role in developing governance frameworks, supporting Office for Students registration, strengthening academic standards, and guiding institutions through periods of organisational change, with quality assurance and institutional inspection work spanning the UK, Spain, Jordan, and Indonesia.

With a detailed understanding of both academic operations and regulatory expectations from the inside, Mr Mabika plays a critical role at IHEART in guiding institutions toward genuine, sustainable quality — not just review readiness — while maintaining a strong culture of continuous improvement. He is passionate about widening access to education and supporting student success, and is committed to promoting excellence, integrity, and effective governance across the sector.
